Henrik Alfke presents practical cases based on users' experience with the data visualization and analysis software BluetrackerThe software provider for cargo operations and fleet performance, INTERSCHALT maritime systems GmbH, sponsors the 2nd Big Data & Performance Management in Shipping summit 2016 taking place on 21 September 2016 at the Strand Palace Hotel in London, UK.
Henrik Alfke, Head of Fleet Performance Software at INTERSCHALT, talks about how big data enable a good judgement of fleet performance data.
He will also present best practice applications described in the new brochure "Good Seamanship 2.0 Fleet Performance Management", including those from BestShip, the energy efficiency subsidiary of E.R. Schiffahrt, the tanker shipping company Ernst Jacob and other software users. All demonstrate that it takes very little data to gain valuable knowledge that can help reduce wear and tear on machines and systems from incorrect practices as well as to save fuel and lube oils and, as a result, demonstrably lower CO2 emissions.
In his outlook he will be addressing challenges of big data with regard to autocomplete missing values by estimation, validation against fixed ranges as well as ship base data and data set consistency.
