Naval Architects, Designers and Marine EngineersBaltic Workboats are creating a small craft design hub in Tallinn, Estonia in order to provide all round technical support services and are being assisted by Amgram Ltd in the development of this new facility. BWB is a fast expanding dynamic company who build workboats and commercial craft at their own yard as well as at other facilities. Beside a modern and up to date build facility in Sarema and the HQ in Tallinn, BWB has extensive access to the new towing tank facility on Saarema.
The new office needs lead naval architects and design engineers to head projects on an incredibly varied range of vessels and we are also looking for naval architects and engineers at a supporting level. The roles are project based and are to carry out all the principle vessel design stages in order to allow detailing by the yard design offices, as well as new design and concept development.
Projects currently underway for which staff are needed immediately include: 45m hybrid coastguard vessel, 25m fast patrol boats and 16m wave piercing SAR craft.
The ideal candidates will have graduated with a degree in Naval Architecture or similar and will have gained a minimum of 5-10 years’ shipyard or design office experience, ideally working in the fast workboat sector on vessels 10-60 metres in aluminium, grp or steel. Candidates for supporting roles may have less experience. Of course we expect that the design tools of Autocad, Maxsurf, Rhino, Solidworks or other design software are completely familiar and can be used to an expert level. We are especially interested in applicants with an all-round design capability, but would also like to hear from those with specialist areas of expertise in propulsion, machinery and systems.
These new and exciting roles are located at the company base in Tallinn but travel to the yard and other European travel will be required as necessary.
